侯老病重中仍为学术鼓掌
昨天下午2时许，素有“活北京”之称的著名地理学家、北大教授侯仁之老先生在北京友谊医院因病离世，享年102岁。
据了解，北大校方已筹建治丧委员会，并将在此后向公众发布讣告。
家中探访突然辞世没来得及看曾孙子
北京大学燕南园，园子深处的61号，便是侯老的家。
小院的绿色大门紧闭着。上午9时40分许，记者在院子外遇到了准备出门的侯老的长媳和长孙，他们要去城市与环境学院同学校方面商量老人后事问题。
侯老的长孙侯研博在上大学之前一直和爷爷住在一起。他告诉记者，最近几年老人一直住在医院，其间也接到过抢救通知，“但每一关爷爷都顽强地闯了过来，而这一次……”说到这里，他声音更低了。
平时都是侯老的长媳在照顾老人，但昨天接到医院告知抢救的电话时，家人们并不在老人身边。当大家赶到医院时，老人已静静地离去了，这让家人倍感遗憾。
但让侯研博觉得更遗憾的是，今年5月份，他的孩子、老人的曾孙出生了，但由于老人一直住在ICU病房内，新生儿不能进到里面去，因此一直没能让老人亲眼看上曾孙一眼，这也成了永远的遗憾。
上午10时，记者再次返回侯老家中，走进了这间老人生活了大半辈子的房间。门口立着一架老钢琴，琴键已经发黄，但音色依然清脆。
在一层客厅里，几张老桌椅占据了大部门面积，空余处堆满了各种地理、历史书籍。几张先生和爱人不同时期的合影记录了两人共同度过的爱的岁月。
追忆师长处事低调侯老不追名逐利
“我觉得他还能活得更长一些，无论是学术生命还是生理生命。”北京大学城市与环境学院教授吴必虎说，侯老对整个北大的地理学发展、北京城市的历史地理，以及对地理学本身的发展做出了很大贡献，且在中国地理学和国际地理学的交流方面有很大推动作用。
在吴必虎的眼中，侯老在学术上特别严谨，为人处世相当低调，不争利益，“他是高要求做学问，低要求对自己的生活。”据其回忆，最后一次见到侯老已是很久之前了，“因为他身体不好住在医院，不便去打扰。”
病重期间仍为学术鼓掌
侯仁之先生一直是中国长城学会副会长、名誉会长，现任中国长城学会副会长董耀会就曾经是侯仁之的关门弟子。
董耀会说，侯先生平时说话非常随和，但是一讲课就进入状态，嗓门很大，充满激情，一口气能滔滔不绝讲个把小时。侯先生记忆力极强，引经据典，随手拈来。
去年6月，董耀会再次去北大医院探望侯先生，侯先生已经病重，无法睁眼，也不能说话，一张小桌子摆在病床上，侯先生双手抓着桌子边，半躺着。
听说“小董”来了，侯先生使劲抬了抬眼皮。保姆告诉董耀会：“侯先生抬眼皮就代表他知道谁来了。”
董耀会向侯先生汇报了新的长城志研究成果，侯先生左手从病床上的小桌子上拿起来，在桌子上拍了几下，保姆说：“这是侯先生高兴了，给您鼓掌呢。”

侯仁之生平
1911年12月生于河北省枣强县，中国著名历史地理学家，中国科学院院士，北京大学城市与环境学院教授、博士生导师。
其在对北京历史地理的研究中，解决了北京城市起源、城址转移、城市发展的特点及客观规律等关键性问题，为北京旧城的改造、城市的总体规划及建设做出重要贡献。
