Jiang zehui Award for an outstanding contribution to International Academy of wood

China Green times reported on October 23 (Yu Yan the author) eighth Pan Pacific region recently held International Conference on wood anatomy (PRWAC) and International Academy of wood (IAWS) on the 2013 annual meeting, population, resources and Environment Committee of the CPPCC, Deputy Director of the international network for bamboo and rattan Co-Chairman of the Board, Director of the International Center for bamboo and rattan, academician of International Academy of wood Jiang zehui Professor won the "IAWS outstanding contribution award."

Awards ceremony, IAWS leina·Shamen spoke highly of President Jiang zehui wood science research over the past 50 years outstanding achievement in the field, as well as in promoting China's academic exchanges with international counterparts in this area has made outstanding contributions. This is a set up IAWS "IAWS outstanding contribution Award" and will grant fellow members.

IAWS, founded in 1966, is the Supreme academic body international wood science, with States composed of leading scientists in the field of wood Sciences and technology. IAWS academician is the highest academic honours international wood science, fellow of the required peer-recommended and approved by ExCom. Currently, 375 IAWS academicians worldwide, mainly distributed in Europe, the USA and Japan and other developed countries and regions. Fellow of the IWAS 15 people currently in mainland China. Jiang zehui, in 1999 was recommended as IWAS academicians.

　　中国绿色时报10月23日报道(作者 余雁) 在日前举行的第八届泛太平洋地区木材解剖国际研讨会(PRWAC)暨国际木材科学院(IAWS)2013年学术年会上，全国政协人口资源环境委员会副主任、国际竹藤组织董事会联合主席、国际竹藤中心主任、国际木材科学院院士江泽慧教授荣获 “IAWS杰出贡献奖”。

　　授奖仪式上，IAWS主席雷纳·沙门高度评价了江泽慧过去50年来在木材科学研究领域所取得的杰出成就，以及在促进中国与国际同行在该领域的学术交流方面所作出的突出贡献。这是IAWS首次设立“IAWS杰出贡献奖”并将其授予院士成员。

　　IAWS成立于1966年，是国际木材科学最高学术组织，由各国木材科学与技术领域的顶尖科学家组成。IAWS院士是国际木材科学领域最高学术荣誉，需由同行院士推荐并通过执委会会议批准。目前，全球有375名IAWS院士，主要分布于欧美和日本等发达国家与地区。中国大陆目前有IWAS院士15人。江泽慧于1999年被推荐成为IWAS院士。
