The Chinese Government always regards India as a strategic partner, India welcomed the achievements made, I really hope with India to seize the opportunity and overcome obstacles, cooperate, achieving peaceful development and cooperation and common development, promoting Sino-Indian strategic and cooperative partnership to a new level.
XI raised a four-point proposal on developing Sino-Indian relations:
Combining with the international trend of Sino-Indian relations should be promoted to enhance strategic mutual trust. In today's world, emerging markets and developing countries as a whole stronger. Both sides should strengthen cooperation at the international, regional and multilateral mechanisms, safeguard common interests, promote the establishment, inclusive, mutual equality and mutual trust, win-win cooperation and international relations.
Second, we should promote the development of Sino-Indian relations with the respective demand combined to deepen pragmatic cooperation. China and India's top priority is developing the economy and improving people's livelihood. Parties to expand infrastructure construction, information technology, telecommunications, investment, industrial parks and other key areas of cooperation, improve the level of collaboration and open China to the West India "East" policy together, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation.

After the meeting, XI met with Singh and his wife, Peng Liyuan, couple friendly and greeted each other.

习近平请辛格转达对慕克吉总统和国大党主席索尼娅·甘地女士的亲切问候。习近平表示，阁下是印度资深政治家、中国人民的老朋友，为中印关系发展作出了重要贡献。中印都是历史悠久的文明古国，也是当今世界两个最大的发展中国家。两国人口相加超过世界人口的三分之一。中印关系已远远超出双边范畴，具有全球和战略意义。我赞赏总理先生所说，世界有足够空间供中印共同发展。我认为，世界也需要中印共同发展。作为当今世界上最重要的双边关系之一，中印关系不仅会造福两国人民，而且将深刻影响亚洲乃至世界未来走向。
习近平表示，当前，中印关系保持全面快速发展势头，进入新的上升通道。中方始终视印度为战略合作伙伴，为印度取得的发展成就感到高兴，真心希望同印度一道，抓住机遇，排除干扰，携手合作，实现和平发展、合作发展和共同发展，推动中印战略合作伙伴关系迈上新台阶。
习近平就发展中印关系提出四点建议：

三要推动中印关系同两国复兴进程相结合，妥善管控分歧。中印都需要一个良好的外部环境特别是周边环境。双方要相互照顾彼此关切，处理好边界、跨境河流问题，加强在防务、打击恐怖主义方面的合作，牢牢把握双边关系发展大局，维护中印共同复兴进程。
四要将中印关系同振兴东方文明相结合，扩大交流对话。中印两个古老文明正在焕发新的生机活力。双方要加强人文交流，为双边关系持续发展奠定更加坚实的社会基础，让中印友好合作更加深入民心。
辛格转达了慕克吉总统和索尼娅·甘地女士对习近平的亲切问候。他表示，印中有着深厚的传统友谊，两国当前都处于发展的关键阶段，有着广泛的共同利益，合作潜力巨大。印中加强合作对两国、亚洲乃至世界都具有重要意义。进一步发展与中国的关系是印度外交的首要任务之一，印方愿与中方进一步加强战略沟通和人文交流，增进相互信任和相互理解，提高务实合作水平，加强防务合作，通过友好协商妥善处理分歧，密切在国际、地区事务中的协调、配合，共同应对挑战，推动两国关系迈上更高水平。辛格祝贺中国发展取得巨大成就，表示中国梦与印度梦息息相通，相互契合，印中携手将构成世界和平发展不可阻挡的力量。
会见结束后，习近平和夫人彭丽媛同辛格夫妇亲切会面并互致问候。
