XI asked Singh to convey to Ms Mukherjee and Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi, President of the greetings. India has a long history of civilization, is also the world's two largest developing countries. Add more than the population of the world's population of one-third. XI said the current Sino-Indian relations have maintained a comprehensive rapid development momentum, into a new upward path. The Chinese Government always regards India as a strategic partner, India's achievements are pleased, I really hope with India to seize the opportunity, overcome obstacles so as to work together to achieve peace and development, cooperation and common development, promoting the Sino-Indian strategic cooperative partnership to a new level.
XI put forward four-point proposal on developing Sino-Indian relations:
Combined with the international trend to promote the Sino-Indian relations, enhance strategic mutual trust. In today's world, stronger emerging market and developing countries as a whole. Both sides should strengthen international, regional and multilateral mechanisms of cooperation and safeguarding the common interests and promote the establishment of equality and mutual trust, tolerance, cooperation and win-win international relations to each other.
Second, we will promote the development of Sino-Indian relations with individual needs combined to deepen pragmatic cooperation. China and India's top priority is to develop the economy and improve people's livelihood. Both sides to expand infrastructure construction, information technology, telecommunications, investment, industrial parks and other key areas of cooperation and improve the level of collaboration, opening China to the West India "East" policy together, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation.
Three will push Sino-Indian relations combined with the rehabilitation process of the two countries, properly regulated disagreements. India needs a favorable external environment, especially the surrounding environment. Both sides should take care of each other's concerns, dealing with boundaries, transboundary river issues, enhanced cooperation in defence, the fight against terrorism, firmly grasp the overall situation of bilateral relations, maintaining Sino-Indian joint rehabilitation process.
Sino-Indian relations in four combined with revitalization of the Oriental civilization, promoting exchanges, dialogue. Two ancient civilization is full of new vitality. Both sides should strengthen cultural exchanges, more solid social basis for the sustained development of bilateral relations, Sino-Indian friendly and cooperative people in greater depth.
Singh conveyed to Ms Mukherjee and Sonia Gandhi, President, XI Jinping, kind regards. He said India-China has deep traditional friendship, the two countries currently are in the critical stages of development, and share broad common interests and huge potential for cooperation. Closer cooperation between India and China, Asia and even the world has great significance. Further development of relations with China is India Foreign Affairs one of the priority tasks of the Indian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to further strengthen strategic communication and cultural exchanges so as to enhance mutual trust and understanding, improve the level of practical cooperation, enhance defense cooperation, properly handle differences through friendly consultations and close coordination in international and regional affairs, cooperation, jointly cope with challenges and push bilateral relations to higher levels. Singh congratulated China's development has made great achievements, dreams of China and India dreams humanely, mutual agreement, India together will constitute the unstoppable force of peace and development in the world.
After the meeting, XI met with Singh and his wife, Peng Liyuan, couple friendly and greeted each other.

习近平请辛格转达对慕克吉总统和国大党主席索尼娅·甘地女士的亲切问候。习近平表示，阁下是印度资深政治家、中国人民的老朋友，为中印关系发展作出了重要贡献。中印都是历史悠久的文明古国，也是当今世界两个最大的发展中国家。两国人口相加超过世界人口的三分之一。中印关系已远远超出双边范畴，具有全球和战略意义。我赞赏总理先生所说，世界有足够空间供中印共同发展。我认为，世界也需要中印共同发展。作为当今世界上最重要的双边关系之一，中印关系不仅会造福两国人民，而且将深刻影响亚洲乃至世界未来走向。
习近平表示，当前，中印关系保持全面快速发展势头，进入新的上升通道。中方始终视印度为战略合作伙伴，为印度取得的发展成就感到高兴，真心希望同印度一道，抓住机遇，排除干扰，携手合作，实现和平发展、合作发展和共同发展，推动中印战略合作伙伴关系迈上新台阶。
习近平就发展中印关系提出四点建议：
一要推动中印关系同国际大势相结合，增进战略互信。当今世界，新兴市场国家和发展中国家整体实力增强。双方要加强在国际、地区事务和多边机制内的合作，维护共同利益，推动建立平等互信、包容互鉴、合作共赢的国际关系。
二要推动中印关系同各自发展需求相结合，深化务实合作。中印两国的首要任务是发展经济、改善民生。双方要拓展在基础设施建设、信息技术、电信、投资、产业园区等重点领域合作，提高合作水平，把中国向西开放同印度“东向政策”结合起来，实现互利共赢。
三要推动中印关系同两国复兴进程相结合，妥善管控分歧。中印都需要一个良好的外部环境特别是周边环境。双方要相互照顾彼此关切，处理好边界、跨境河流问题，加强在防务、打击恐怖主义方面的合作，牢牢把握双边关系发展大局，维护中印共同复兴进程。
四要将中印关系同振兴东方文明相结合，扩大交流对话。中印两个古老文明正在焕发新的生机活力。双方要加强人文交流，为双边关系持续发展奠定更加坚实的社会基础，让中印友好合作更加深入民心。
辛格转达了慕克吉总统和索尼娅·甘地女士对习近平的亲切问候。他表示，印中有着深厚的传统友谊，两国当前都处于发展的关键阶段，有着广泛的共同利益，合作潜力巨大。印中加强合作对两国、亚洲乃至世界都具有重要意义。进一步发展与中国的关系是印度外交的首要任务之一，印方愿与中方进一步加强战略沟通和人文交流，增进相互信任和相互理解，提高务实合作水平，加强防务合作，通过友好协商妥善处理分歧，密切在国际、地区事务中的协调、配合，共同应对挑战，推动两国关系迈上更高水平。辛格祝贺中国发展取得巨大成就，表示中国梦与印度梦息息相通，相互契合，印中携手将构成世界和平发展不可阻挡的力量。
会见结束后，习近平和夫人彭丽媛同辛格夫妇亲切会面并互致问候。
