10月23日，中共中央政治局常委、中央纪委书记、中央巡视工作领导小组组长王岐山在中央巡视工作动员部署会上强调，要严肃认真开展好今年第二轮巡视。中央巡视组今年第二轮巡视共分10个组，分别对山西、吉林、安徽、湖南、广东、云南、新华社、国土资源部、商务部、三峡集团开展巡视。
侯凯在巡视三峡集团工作动员会上指出，根据中央部署，巡视工作重点是检查监督领导班子及其成员特别是主要负责人以下情况：一是在深入推进党风廉政建设和反腐败斗争方面，着力发现是否存在领导干部违反党风廉政建设责任制和廉洁自律规定，是否存在权钱交易、以权谋私、贪污贿赂、腐化堕落等违纪违法问题；二是在执行中央八项规定精神方面，着力发现是否存在形式主义、官僚主义、享乐主义和奢靡之风，是否存在打折扣、搞变通等问题；三是在严明党的政治纪律方面，着力发现领导干部是否存在对涉及党的理论和路线方针政策等重大政治问题公开发表反对意见、对中央方针政策和重大决策部署阳奉阴违等问题；四是在执行民主集中制和干部选拔任用方面，着力发现是否存在独断专行、软弱涣散、严重不团结等问题，是否存在买官卖官、拉票贿选、违规用人、搞团团伙伙等不正之风和选人用人腐败问题。同时，对反映领导班子成员在其他方面的重大违纪违法问题线索和下一级领导班子主要负责人的重要问题线索也要了解掌握。
三峡集团党组书记曹广晶就集团配合做好巡视工作提出三点要求：第一，要提高思想认识，高度重视巡视工作。要从讲政治、讲大局、讲党性的高度来认识这次巡视工作，切实增强接受巡视监督的自觉性、积极性和主动性。第二，要大力支持巡视工作，认真配合做好相关工作。要坚持实事求是原则，本着对党负责、对群众负责、对自己负责的态度，如实汇报情况，客观反映问题，及时提供资料，让巡视组的领导同志掌握全面真实的情况。第三，要切实用好巡视成果，结合正在开展的党的群众路线教育实践活动，切实抓好问题的整改落实。同时还要举一反三，着力建立改进工作的长效机制。曹广晶强调，要切实把巡视组反馈的意见转化为改进工作的具体行动、解决问题的有效对策、推动领导班子建设的实际成果。
