10月29日，记者接到报料后在现场看到，在航天宾馆车站到安定门的马路上，两侧依然有防护栏设置，防护栏后面的行道树，大多被连根锯掉，一些树桩和树枝残留在地，被施工人员用安全网盖住。记者一路数了一下，被连根锯掉的椿树有十多棵，这些树木直径都在二三十厘米。据附近商户介绍，这些树生长年龄在四五十年以上。记者29日下午联系了兰州市园林局绿化处慕处长，他告诉记者，移树是应该连根部完整地移走，但对安定门路段的行道树被连根锯掉的问题，慕处长介绍，这些生长了30多年的老椿树将要淘汰，已经请教过专家，专家们也认为这些树已经老化了，且移栽成活率不高，成本较大，因此给市政府专门打过报告，等工程结束后将种植其他树种。
