8座车站已封顶6座 将开行大站快车
据悉，地铁6号线东延至通州的二期工程计划明年12月28日开通试运营，全线设站由7座确定增至8座。目前，8座车站中已有6座封顶。
开行大站快车 新华大街站为中转站
据了解，6号线将开行大站快车，乘客可在常营站、新华大街站进行快慢车换乘。
目前6号线二期新华大街站已封顶，工作人员正在铺轨。该站位于北京市东部通州新城核心区，为双层双岛四线式车站，将与市郊轨道交通6号线(S6线)远期换乘。该车站是快慢车中转车站，车站内设置2座越行换乘站台，内侧是快车停靠站台，外侧是慢车会让站台，乘客在此完成快慢车中转换乘。
全线设站8座 通州3站将一体化开发
据第四项目中心副总工程师赵元根介绍，6号线是一条贯穿中心城的东西向轨道交通骨干线，也是北京地铁“三环、四横、五纵、七放射”中重要的“一横”。继去年年底一期工程通车试运营后，东延至通州区境内的二期工程也将于明年年底开通。
6号线二期西起朝阳区草房站，东至通州区东小营站，全长12.395公里，全线共设8座车站，均为地下站。值得注意的是，6号线二期原设7座车站，后增加会展中心站，位于运河东岸、玉带河大街站和郝家府站之间，主要为附近的国际会展服务中心提供便利。
6号线二期开通后将承担京城东西方向的客流，为地铁1号线分担客流压力。这条地铁线路是北京市内第一条时速为100公里的全地下地铁快线，运载能力提高30%以上，其走向与地铁1号线平行，对缓解北京市中心城区东西向的地面交通压力将起到举足轻重的作用。
据介绍，定位为北京“城市副中心”的通州新城核心区内将设置北关、新华大街、玉带河大街3座车站。3座车站将进行北京最大规模的车站一体化开发，周边规划了大范围的商业和地产开发项目及交通枢纽。建成后，一体化设计的规模在北京地铁将首屈一指。届时，车站的出入口将与周边建筑无缝对接。
此外，北关站预留了与规划R1线换乘的条件；新华大街站则预留了与市郊轨道交通6号线(S6线)远期换乘的条件，S6线在下，6号线在上。
明年开通试运营 5站点甩站不停车
目前，8座车站中的6座已经全部封顶，只剩余东小营站和新增的会展中心站未封顶。其中，东小营站进度完成总量50%，预计今年年底封顶；会展中心站今年9月底刚刚进场施工，预计明年4月具备铺轨条件。此外，全线8个盾构区间已有5个洞通，预计明年2月底全部洞通。
6号线二期计划于明年7月25日进行全线动车调试，明年8月20日与一期贯通调试，9月中旬具备运营条件，12月28日开通试运营。
据地铁设计方介绍，6号线将开行大站快车。一期的常营站与二期的新华大街站两座车站与常规车站相比，增加了2条轨道，可以停靠快车，乘客在这两座车站可以实现快慢车的换乘。
届时，快车经由6号线东段的青年路站到东小营站时，将有5站不停车，从而实现提高速度、减少运营时间的效果。快车“甩站不停”的5座车站目前不能确定，还在研究之中。
