被誉为安卓定制之父的Steve Kondik今日发布微博称，最近在和OPPO副总经理刘作虎“密谋”做一件可能会改变Andriod手机世界的事情，从零开始打造一部拥有最好用软件和最顶级硬件配置的安卓手机。随后刘作虎在微博上确认了这一消息。
Steve Kondik在11月初接受记者采访时，还仅表示自己刚刚参观了工厂，与OPPO方面只在洽谈涉及硬件层面的合作。显然在最近一段时间里，Steve Kondik与OPPO在合作细节上达成了共识。
CyanogenMod OS是一家基于安卓原生深度优化定制的OS，包括MIUI、锤子ROM等知名安卓ROM都是在CyanogenMod OS基础上的二次开发或使用了部分代码，在年初罗永浩那场声势浩大的锤子ROM发布会上，就曾高调向Steve Kondik致敬。
但CyanogenMod团队在商业化的脚步上并不领先，在中国的小米凭借手机产品成为百亿元估值的手机公司时，CM团队却一直以兴趣和开源的方式存在。直到今年4月份，Steve Kondik才以公司形态成立了Cyanogen Inc，并获得了第一笔750万美元的融资。
Steve Kondik在成立公司前曾在三星任职，此前曾有消息称未来CyanogenMod会与三星深度合作，但在Steve Kondik出席今年9月23日的OPPO N1发布会后，外界普遍认为OPPO将是CM未来的合作对象。
