British media： Chinese single elderly people eager to find a life partner

International online reports from: United Kingdom, Reuters reported on November 12, on a blind date event sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Government, Mr Liu Fenqin, 53 (sound) wearing her favorite black gown, nervously sitting in a corner, hoping to find the perfect match. More than 10 years ago, her first marriage ended in divorce.

As the escalating divorce rate in China, Liu Fenqin many participate in the annual matchmaking event, sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal Government of one in middle-aged and older. This year, raise the age limit for this event from 45 to 60 years.

Matchmaking agency Vice Chairman Xu Tianli in Shanghai said that last year some 30,000 people attended this event, drew some 40,000 people this year, organizers raised the upper age limit in order to meet the growing needs of the divorce.

Participating were some of the more than 60 years of age and in some cases has more than 70 years old, so age is not absolute.

China's divorce rate has been rising for seven consecutive years. According to official figures, in 2012, China's divorce rate of growth surpassed the marriage rate.

According to media reports, China is the highest divorce rate in Beijing, compared to 39%. United States divorce rate is about 50%, and United Kingdom for divorce rate is 42%.

　　国际在线专稿：据英国路透社11月12日报道，在上海市政府赞助的一场相亲活动上，现年53岁的刘芬琴(音)身着她最喜爱的黑色长裙，紧张不安地坐在一个角落，希望能找到理想的另一半。10多年前，她的第一段婚姻以离婚告终。

　　随着中国离婚率的逐步上升，刘芬琴成为众多参加此次上海市政府赞助的年度相亲活动的中老年中的一员。今年这场活动的年龄上限从45岁提高至60岁。

　　上海市婚姻介绍机构管理协会副会长徐天立表示，去年大约有3万人参加这场活动，今年吸引了大约4万人，此前组织方提高了年龄上限，以满足越来越多离婚人士的需求。

　　现场参加活动的人有些60多岁了，有些甚至有70多岁，因此年龄限制也不是绝对的。

　　中国的离婚率已连续七年攀升。根据官方数据，2012年，中国的离婚率同比增幅首次超过结婚率。

　　据中国媒体报道，中国离婚率最高的城市是北京，比例为39%。美国的离婚率约为50%，而英国的离婚率为42%。
