Leonid meteor shower tonight， will visit the Earth， known as King of meteor shower

　　根据天文专家介绍，狮子座流星雨的母体彗星为“坦普尔－塔特尔”彗星，每33年绕太阳公转一圈，为狮子座流星群补充一次大量的碎块、颗粒及尘埃。近年来的观测表明，狮子座流星雨迸发时常见特别明亮的火流星，这些流星在夜空中拖着长长的尾迹，非常美丽。

　　2001年狮子座流星雨曾给人类带来过暴雨量级的爆发，整个天空如同天女散花，金蛇狂舞。根据相关预报，今年预计将出现两次“极大”，分别在北京时间17日18时和18日0时。该流星雨的辐射点位于狮子座头部，在11月中旬要到子夜时分才会升起，狮子座流星雨要等到后半夜才能看到，所以说今年的极大时间并不太适宜观测，而月相接近满月，会对观测带来严重影响。
