人民网北京11月18日电 （田雪）日前，有媒体报道“武汉渣土车活埋5人”的事件，此事引起了社会的广泛关注。今日下午，武汉市江岸区后湖街道办事处官方微博发布了“关于堤角花鸟市场门口倾倒渣土事件的情况说明及处理意见”，参与倒渣土的村党总支副书记王志明暂停职务，接受组织调查。
据《新京报》报道，11月15日上午，湖北武汉市江岸区堤角花鸟宠物大世界的大门处，3辆渣土车欲倒渣土堵门，5名工作人员阻止时被倾倒而下的渣土埋于土中，导致多人受伤。
今日，江岸区后湖街道办事处官方微博公布了此事的情况说明：近期，堤角花鸟宠物市场擅自违法建设遮阳棚等构筑物。因该市场位于幸福村城中村改造规划范围内，部分村民认为，新建违法构筑物会在拆迁补偿中给村集体造成损失。村民拨打市长专线举报该违法建设，并向市区两级城管、水务部门反映。
江岸区城管委、后湖街城管执法中队现场勘查后，对花鸟宠物市场下达了限期拆除决定书。虽然市场方口头承诺停工，但实际上并未完全停工，暗地进行抢建。
为阻止其继续违建，幸福村百余村民于11月15日上午来到花鸟宠物市场大门前，采取了倾倒渣土的过激行为。
该说明表示：“经调查，村民在倒渣土时，遭到了花鸟宠物市场方的阻拦。其中，一位名叫李继广的市场员工在阻挡渣土倾倒时，身体腰部以下部位被渣土所覆盖。经赶至现场的民警劝说，现场人员将李继广从渣土堆里背出，并送往医院检查，当时李继广神智清楚。病历显示，李继广为双膝以下软组织挫伤，左右膝关节各组成骨未显示骨折征象，关节结构正常。”
对于此事，武汉市江岸区后湖街道办事处做出了相应的处理意见：
一、事发当日，公安机关和后湖街道已督促幸福村将花鸟宠物市场门前的渣土清理干净；
二、后湖街道工委决定，参与倒渣土的幸福村党总支副书记王志明暂停职务，接受组织调查；
三、目前，公安机关对此事进行进一步的调查取证，调查结束后对相关当事人进行依法处理；
四、对花鸟市场中的新增违建，由区执法部门坚决依法处置。
