在大单位设立新闻发言人是人民解放军和武警部队加强对外宣传工作的重要举措。大单位新闻发言人主要担负对外发布本单位重要活动的权威信息，回应舆论关切，回答媒体求证和提问等职责。据悉，其他大单位也将陆续设立新闻发言人，使人民解放军和武警部队新闻发言人制度更加健全完善。
