Chinese Navy hospital ship will visit the Philippines disaster areas

People's daily Beijing, November 20 at today's routine press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told reporters about Chinese hospital ship and dispatched medical teams to the Philippines to ask questions. Following is a question-and-answer:

Confirmed by and in coordination with the Philippine side, the Chinese Government dispatched emergency medical teams and Red Cross Society of China international search and rescue team will soon travel to the Philippines, Red Cross under the first batch of rescuers will depart on 20th. China will send a naval "peace Ark" hospital ship to Philippines disaster areas to help. The ships have better medical evacuation capability and mobility of the affected areas, will set sail as soon as possible.

　　问：据报道，菲律宾“海燕”台风受灾灾民已逾千万，伤员近2万，中方已向菲方提出派遣应急医疗队赴灾区，请问医疗队将于何时出发？

　　答：中方一直高度关注菲律宾台风灾情，愿本着救死扶伤的精神，派救援人员赴菲灾区开展人道主义医疗救助。经与菲方协调和确认，中国政府派遣的应急医疗队和中国红十字会国际救援队将于近日赴菲，红会下属第一批救援人员将于20日启程。中方还将派遣海军“和平方舟”号医院船赴菲灾区参与救援。该船具备较好灾区医疗救援能力和机动性，将尽快启航。
