After the sentencing, Wu Zhan-hui has not decided whether to appeal to the Court.

法院审理查明，2003年11月至2012年3月期间，吴湛辉担任广东东莞市环保局副局长、局长期间，利用职务便利，帮助东莞市恒泰环保设备公司负责人赖洪中(另案处理)，获得东莞市环保局下属工业废物处理站的经营承包权，并分多次收受赖洪中的贿赂合计4970万元人民币。
2006年4月和2011年6月，吴湛辉分别通过地下钱庄转账1600万元港币和7600万元港币购置香港物产；2007年上半年，吴湛辉出借3000万元人民币给赖洪中用于资金周转，后来收回。法院认为吴湛辉的财产和支出明显超过其合法收入，且其不能说明来源。
法院称，吴湛辉被调查期间主动检举时任东莞市环保局局长袁绍东(已判刑)涉嫌受贿，有重大立功表现，且吴湛辉案发后多次退还赃款，并出让香港物产以全额退赃，依法可减轻处罚。
法院最终判决称，吴湛辉犯受贿罪及巨额财产来源不明罪，数罪并罚判处无期徒刑，并没收财产500万元人民币。
宣判后，吴湛辉当庭未决定是否上诉。
吴湛辉生于1967年，其自1986年参加工作以来，在东莞市教育局、东莞市环保局等多个部门任职，案发前任中共东莞市委委员、副秘书长。
今年10月，吴湛辉在广州中院公开受审，当时公诉机关指出，吴湛辉涉案数额过亿元人民币，这在广东省乃至全国范围内实属罕见。(完)
