　　在众多被处罚的企业中，有一家是广东生活环境无害化处理中心。据了解，该中心是广东省政府直接拨款扶持创办的公有环境污染治理专业机构，现隶属广东物资集团公司管辖下的国有企业，于1998年2月建成了广东(广州)医疗废物处理站，负责对广州地区各医疗单位产生的医疗废物进行集中无害化处置。

　　广州市环保局公开的资料显示，广东生活环境无害化处理中心违反了《广东省固体废物污染环境防治条例》23条：“高毒性、致畸、致癌、致突变性等高危险废物，应当由取得相应危险废物经营许可证的单位集中处置。”因此，环保部门责令当事人立即改正违法行为，并罚款2万元。

　　今年5月19日，从傍晚开始一直到深夜，不断有各地市民投诉闻到了“煤气味”，煤气公司、消防官兵将逐一排除各种泄露事件，广州市环保局检查广州石化时发现该企业没有按照要求进行检修，导致废气外排，并派专人进驻广州石化进行调查。

　　广州市环保局对广州石化进行了两笔各5万元的罚款，其中一笔主要是因为其没有按照规定使用处理废气以及废水设施。另外一笔5万元罚款是因为向大气排放恶臭气体的排污单位，必须采取措施防止周围居民区受到污染。
