此外，针对墨西哥爆发的霍乱疫情，以及正在海地、多米尼加共和国和古巴流行的菌株，宁德检验检疫局加强对来自上述国家人员的医学巡查、流行病学调查、医学排查等工作；对来自上述国家、可能被霍乱弧菌污染的交通工具、货物、集装箱、行李、邮包严格进行检疫查验，实施消毒等卫生处理措施。
该局提醒，对于近期拟前往上述国家的人员，应有防病意识，防止感染霍乱等传染病。一旦出现腹泻、呕吐等症状，在使用口服补液纠正脱水的同时，要及时就医。
霍乱是由霍乱弧菌引起的烈性肠道传染病，潜伏期为5天，该病发病急、传播快，主要症状为剧烈的腹泻和呕吐，可引起严重脱水和急性肾衰竭，治疗不及时可导致死亡。(财经专线)
