目前行驶于省际道路的部分旅客运输车辆没有安装限速装置，驾驶员超速时，车辆也没有报警功能。为从源头上减少超速的现象，市运输管理处决定，行驶于省际道路的旅客运输车辆必须安装限速装置，最高时速限制为每小时100公里。
市运管处要求，客车生产厂商凡新购用于省际道路客运的车辆，必须安装限速装置。管理部门在办理《道路运输证》时，需验看厂商提供的已安装限速装置的相关证明。凡是在2013年10月1日前，已持有《道路运输证》的车辆，若未加装安装限速装置的，应在2014年1月1日前完成限速装置安装。管理部门将加强现场监管，对没有加装限速装置的将实行相应处罚。
据专家介绍，超速会影响驾驶员的视觉，时速100公里时驾驶员视野变窄，视力减弱。
