玛多，藏语里的意思为“黄河源头”，历史上是由内地进入西藏的一个驿站，也是一个古渡口。玛多县位于青海南部，海拔4000多米，总面积25000平方公里，总人口1万多人，以藏族为主。
青海省民政厅救灾处副处长耿生海介绍，至25日18时，玛多县积雪面积已达2734万余亩，为全县面积近75%，涉及牧户560户1757人，牲畜115988头(只)。目前，玛多县已经展开有效防灾救灾，确保农牧民生活正常有序。
玛多县政府办公室一位申姓工作人员介绍，县城及周边到处都是积雪，天气比较寒冷，最为严重的是交通问题，尽管车辆能够能行，但由于路面结冰打滑交通事故不断。(完)
