“老年人意外伤害保险”不受年龄和户籍限制。在北京生活的50至60周岁退休人员、60周岁及以上的老年人都可办理保险。投保老人年龄上不封顶，100岁也可以投保。目前全市有符合条件的老人300万左右。
“老年人意外伤害保险”由中国人寿北京市分公司具体实施。年度保险费每份17元，保险期限为一年，一人最高可购买4份。今年12月16日起开始面向社会受理投保事宜。对于自主参保的老人，中国人寿给予每份2元的保费优惠，参保人实际缴纳保险费为每份15元，每人最多可投保4份。
