苏贞昌则声称，民进党一直用积极自信的态度面对大陆，但也始终没有放弃民进党“最高的价值和立场”，希望能在两岸之间寻求更善意、更好的对话，可惜从大陆其实是“铁板一块”，而且吃定台湾。
他称，民进党绝对坚守立场，绝不容许大陆老是想“框住台湾”，民进党为台湾主流民意发声， 始终没有放弃责任。
