据湖北省人民政府门户网站的简历显示，1956年12月出生的郭有明，毕业于武汉水利电力学院农田水利工程专业，大学学历，工学学士，高级工程师。曾任湖北省宜昌市市委书记、市长等职，2011年8月起，任湖北省政府副省长，分管省国土资源厅、省水利厅、省农业厅、省林业厅、省扶贫办、省三峡办（省经协办）、省南水北调局、省移民局、省地矿局、省农垦局、省农科院；协管省气象局和油料所；联系长江水利委员会。
2011年，在湖北省人大在对郭有明职务任免议案的审查报告中提到，郭政治素质好，熟悉经济工作，注重宏观谋划，推动工作力度大。同时，郭处事稳重，公道正派，要求自己比较严格。
昨晚10时许，郭有明的简历已从湖北省人民政府网站撤下，原本7位副省长（含常务副省长）的简历只剩下6位。

湖北政协原副主席被查
