Reporter: Hospice for terminal cancer patients in mainland projects, what is intended?
Li Ka-Shing: actually, not many people like to do this kind of service in the Mainland, but others such as children do the project more, because helping a child benefit is high. I initially wanted to do Hospice project is in a cold winter, I visited a friend who had cancer, he saw I was very happy and not let go until sleep took me by the hand. 记者：你把基金会称为“第三个儿子”，怎么保障其资金投入和运作？
李嘉诚：基金会已拥有我三分之一的资产，至今已捐出145亿港元。今年承诺及已捐出的款额就有40亿港元，为历年最高。我规定基金会80%以上的捐款用于大中华地区，不超过20%的用在海外。
记者：听说基金会选择项目的最终决定权都在你本人，什么样的项目能打动你？
李嘉诚：现在基金会主要做两大范畴，教育和医疗。在内地，我们有很多项目在不同地方做了10多年，现在仍在继续。还有一些是我自己主动要去做的，跟民政部合作的针对全国贫困家庭唇腭裂儿童的“重生行动”，已有2万多名儿童受惠；在西部三个省份试点的疝气手术，给患儿提供免费手术及交通费，目前已扩展至西部其他省份。我现在最想了解的，是有哪些项目最需要帮助但政府部门可能还没覆盖到的，我们是发自内心去做这些事，期望病人真正得到益处。
记者：你在内地开展对癌症晚期病人的临终关怀项目，初衷是什么？
李嘉诚：其实内地喜欢做这类服务的人并不多，反而其他如儿童项目比较多人做，因为帮助孩子回报高。我最初想做临终关怀项目，是因在一个寒冷冬天，我去探望一位患癌症的朋友，他看见我非常高兴，直到睡着都拉着我的手没有放开。当时我想，这个朋友很富有，能得到很好的医疗照顾，但还是痛苦不已。内地贫穷的癌症病人生活又怎样？所以就萌生开展“宁养”服务的想法，我不喜欢叫“临终关怀”，改为“宁养服务”。现在相关宁养服务项目每年资助金额会增加，未来两三年内，每年捐款要增至1亿元。
记者：除了出资，你会给基金会事务上分配多少时间？
李嘉诚：我对基金会事务亲力亲为，无论何时，只要项目有需要，我都尽可能出席交流和分享活动。
记者：如果基金会需要你站台，你会为它求人么？
李嘉诚：为基金会项目而求助于人的情况时常会有，出发点无非是希望尽量提高项目效益，有效果地帮助更多有需要的人。如果是对国家民族和人类有益的事，即使卑躬屈膝我也在所不辞，但若是为个人名利或公司利益，我绝对不会这样做。
