If it is good for the nation and humanity, even grovel, I know, but for personal fame or the interests of the company, I will never do so.

Reporter: through Harbour investments (investment company owned by Li Ka-Shing), high-tech investment has become your tag. Outside it's hard to imagine a more than 80-year old Hong Kong entrepreneurs to invest in high-tech enterprises to maintain such a high hit rate. How do you select for high-tech companies to invest?
Li Ka-Shing: can I share a secret, I really enjoyed reading every night, no matter how tired, I want to read, and also like the pursuit of the latest scientific and technical knowledge. Reporter: now longer and decided, is your judgment on the degree and extent to which it is Victor's decision?

Reporter: how to evaluate your little boy?
Li Ka-Shing: two sons, smart, but a different character, and I love them very much, they are patriotic. Reporter: you said before considering retirement plans?
Li: I have retirement readiness, but there is no such plan yet.

在去年宣布家族财产分配之后，关于接班、退休等话题就一直围绕着李嘉诚。采访时，李嘉诚也鲜有地公开评价了两个儿子，对未来继承长和系的大儿子李泽钜更是展现出极大期望。
记者：透过维港投资(李嘉诚旗下投资公司)，高科技投资已成为你的标签。外界很难想象，一位八十多岁的香港企业家会对投资高科技企业保持如此高的命中率。你是如何挑选高科技企业进行投资的？
李嘉诚：我可以分享一个秘密，我非常喜欢读书，每晚无论多疲惫，我都要看书，也很喜欢追求最新的科技知识。我还可以透露，除了A pple(IO S系统)和三星A ndroid(系统)，很快会有一个新的(手机)操作系统出现。我非常留意与自己从事行业有关的新资讯和发展转变。无论做什么生意，你一定要喜欢和爱它，这样才有进步。
记者：现在长和系的决定，在多大程度上是你的判断，多大程度上是李泽钜先生的决定？
李嘉诚：大儿子V ictor(李泽钜)大学毕业后跟我工作快30年了，现在他对整个集团细微之处比我更清楚。我原本打算提早退休，不过现在的经济环境有很多变化无法预料。即使在下一个小时把公司完全交给V ictor，相信他与所有同事也可好好地继续经营，我不担心。
记者：你觉得你的儿子会在哪些方面优于你？
李嘉诚：至少他受过良好教育，英文程度比我好(笑)。坦白说，我年轻时不喜欢应酬，V ictor不喜欢的程度比我更甚。他是好丈夫、好父亲，工作以外跟家人过着正常的家庭生活；他做事认真，对公司业务绝对清楚，心思细密，财政保守，跟公司同事关系非常好。
记者：如何评价你的小儿子？
李嘉诚：两个儿子都聪明，但性格不同，我非常爱他们，他们也爱国。大儿子V icto r循规蹈矩，工作认真，不偷懒；小儿子R ich ard(李泽楷)也聪明，很灵活，虽然喜欢玩，但这几年他的事业有大改变，让我安心不少。
记者：你之前说过考虑退休，还有计划吗？
李嘉诚：我已做好退休准备，但现在还没有这个计划。
