Li Ka-Shing: man found in working life, life is fun. 李嘉诚：我自问无论如何努力，仍发现没有一个人能解决所有问题；如果可以重新开始，我可能会考虑参政。
记者：你有遗憾的事情吗？
李嘉诚：遗憾的事是没有早点成立(李嘉诚)基金会。世上无完人，一个人即使做到99.9%的好，只要有0 .1%误会的瑕疵，只要他是名人，也会遭到严厉攻击。
记者：你的人生经历不少波折和坎坷，回想起来，哪个阶段是最艰难的？
李嘉诚：我最艰难的时候是十三四岁。那时日本侵华，父亲去世，自己也有肺病。不过即使是最艰难的日子，我也充满信心。我不断争取上进机会，立志要做一个有理想的好人。我想假如我没有正确的人生观，便无法活到现在。
记者：你所谓正确的人生观是什么？
李嘉诚：走正路，有理想，作为中国人，对自己民族作出贡献。我不求名，在内地捐款，拒绝所有的建筑物以我的名字命名。即使是汕大，其基建、设备90%的款项由我付出，我唯一的要求是不要写上我的名字。
记者：面对生命终结你会害怕吗？
李嘉诚：我不惧怕死亡。假如死亡，我还可以是一盏灯，能够照着一条路，而且还留下有生命的基金会。没人可破坏这个基金会，我的儿孙及董事不能从中得到任何利益。这个基金会拥有自己的资产，足够让它继续做公益事业。
记者：你是否还有未完成的梦想？
李嘉诚：一直都有，包括希望国家一直富强。
记者：你出现在世人面前时总是非常简朴，眼镜、手表都非名贵之物。外界很好奇，除了摄影和高尔夫，你是否还有别的乐趣？
李嘉诚：人要在工作中发现人生，生活就乐趣无穷。我每天都乐于为股东或基金会付出时间和精力，数十年如一日，我可能是公司“请病假”最少的人之一。看书是我最大的享受，我年纪虽长，每晚仍会阅读不同类型的书籍，很多时候午夜或天亮醒来时，书本搁于胸前或落在身旁。直至今天，这个习惯依然保持不变。
记者：作为华人首富，是否有计划出传记，分享这一生的宝贵经验？
李嘉诚：不少好友游说我出版传记，若干年前我也曾在一个月里，每天花三分之一时间与专门小组整理和撰写传记的资料。不过，有一天突然想到这类传记可能会涉及其他不少人，为免对别人有所影响，最后决定把所有资料封存，不再继续。
记者：你如何评价自己？希望后人如何评价自己？
李嘉诚：我不会理会这些事，更加不会自我评价。过去到现在，我都问心无愧，也不会认为自己是百分百完人。世上无完人，自己只是尽量用知识和感觉做自己应该做的事。
记者：如果让你选择墓志铭，你会写什么？
李嘉诚：如果真的要写墓志铭，我会选择一直支持我每天充满斗志的两句话：建立自我，追求无我。
