　　在这座铁路过街天桥上，千龙网记者发现，这座桥上，插满了人们自发送来的白色和黄色的菊花。桥上来来往往的过客中，也有人在窦珍老人坠桥处驻足良久，他们一起热议老人生前扫桥的事迹之后，都无限惋惜。

　　在采访中，千龙网记者了解到，窦珍老人不仅爱桥、护桥、清洁大桥，还自己出钱护桥修路。2011年11月16日，北京下了一场大雨，这座铁路桥下与三环辅路之间十几米的通道产生了积水，来往行人十分不便。窦珍老人发现后，他先是买铁锹，铲了不少土垫高路面，可作用不大。后来，他找到该社区主动捐款3000元，由该社区帮着找施工队将破损的路面修好。窦珍老人说，这样做一是方便居民通行，二是纪念自己扫桥10周年。

　　2012年，北京下了3场大雪，窦珍老人一直坚持扫桥，并带动附近居民加入了扫雪铲冰的队伍。今年9月初，窦珍老人的子女将老人送到了一家条件不错的养老院，想让他颐养天年。但是，窦珍老人时刻惦记着这座铁路桥，他两次偷偷跑回来购买扫桥工具。后来，老人坚持让子女接他回家，回家后，老人又开始扫桥。

　　该社区工作人员多次劝老人要保重好身体，不要再干了，同时也安排了志愿者清扫桥面，并准备在11月29日举办“志愿者服务队扫桥交接仪式”，窦珍老人也同意了，没想到没有等到举行仪式的这天，他却先走了。

　　在清理窦珍老人的遗物时，他的儿女发现了他自己购买的13面国旗。每逢国庆前，老人都亲自将国旗挂到翠林三里20号楼的13个楼门口。老人的儿女告诉记者，父亲经常教育他们“要先爱国，后爱家”。

　　这几年来，在窦珍老人的带领下，该社区成立了劝导队、巡逻队等多支志愿者服务队，总人数超过了200人，陆续开展“人人都是志愿者，星光闪烁满社区”等活动。如今，刚成立的窦珍志愿服务队已经接过了老人的扫帚，树立起了奉献和坚持的旗帜，倡议市民向窦珍老人学习，关爱社会、关爱他人、关爱自然，从自己做起，从小事做起，服务他人，奉献社会，用自己的双手建设美丽北京、美丽家园。
