11月12日，一份名为《中国超级大贪官、大老虎——现代版“和珅”再现》的网帖在天涯、百度贴吧等多个网站热传，在百度关键词搜索到相关举报达760个。这些“有图有真相”的帖子列举了林伟忠8大问题，包括滥用职权、买官卖官、征兵受贿、伪造国家机关印章、设小金库、包养情妇、违法生育、赌博成性、违规办酒席等问题。
网帖内容图文并茂。帖文中附有3张雷克萨斯牌高档轿车图片，合计价值约250万元。同时，还提供了13栋房产外观图，每张图片都标有具体位置，大多数房产位于厚街的黄金商业旺地，以别墅、商务酒店居多。
