不过后来，Apptricity发现他们的软件被军方滥用了。原本只订购了一套服务器软件的美军居然将这套软件用在了全球各地93个服务器上。终端软件数量更是超过了9000个。按照双方最初商定的价格，每套服务端软件售价135万美元，每套终端软件售价5000美元，Apptricity终于觉得军队的广告效应抵不上这个损失，于是将美国军方告上法庭，索赔2.44亿美元。
最近，双方终于就此项纠纷达成了和解，由军队支付5000万美元的赔偿金。尽管双方对簿公堂闹得不大愉快，可双方的合作似乎并未因此受到影响，均表示以后将继续合作关系。
不过有分析人士称，这应该不是美军使用的唯一盗版软件。现在索赔的大门已经被打开，恐怕军队一方今后会接连不断接到类似的官司。
