其一，几年前，网络虽说还没有现在这么发达，但曾有人举报、质疑过林伟忠及其妻女拥有的物业、豪车问题。这为何没有引起监管部门的应有警觉，并及时介入调查，而是大事化小，让厚街镇党委、政府去“自查自纠”？
其二，“自查自纠”由厚街镇党委、政府哪个部门牵头、谁具体负责？其时，对举报者所言林伟忠涉嫌违纪一事做过哪些调查？得出的结论又是什么？他林伟忠咋那么轻而易举地便过了“自查自纠”关？
其三，既然房管所的人都被林伟忠那一纸箱房产证惊呆了，这样的证据、线索难道还不算“足够”？如果监管部门当时就按图索骥，林伟忠涉嫌严重违纪恐怕早就浮出了水面。而所谓“自查自纠”，是不是有人深恐“拔出萝卜带出泥”，悄然给出的一把“保护伞”？
总之，厘清当年“自查自纠”的来龙去脉，不仅对彻查林伟忠涉嫌严重违纪问题很有必要，而且对目前正在深入开展的“打虎拍蝇”，具有一定的警示作用。
