10时许，仪式开始，他们手捧黄菊花，摆放花圈、花束，挂上挽联，脱帽鞠躬行礼，寄托哀思。
回忆起孟祥斌当年的壮举，一些市民忍不住掩面哭泣了起来。曾经与家人一道，为孟祥斌送行的市民张女士，今天带着儿子，特地买了一束鲜花，轻轻放在了栏杆边。她说：“孟祥斌的事迹感动了金华人，感动了一座城。他是我们金华的骄傲，不管是6年，还是60年，我们永远不能忘记他。”
