China again urges the Japanese side to face up to and reflect on its history of aggression

China News Agency, Beijing, December 2, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei 2nd 70 anniversary of the publication of the Cairo Declaration in Beijing while answering a reporter's question, said Chinese soul-searching and again urged the Japanese side to face up to its history of aggression, to honour its promises, fulfill its due international obligations, take concrete actions to win the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community.

A reporter asked: December 1 is the 70 anniversary of the publication of the Cairo Declaration. China's comment on this?

Hong Lei said that the Cairo Declaration is widely recognized as an important international legal document, are major achievements of the world anti-fascist war, lays an important foundation for the post-war international order established by the international community, important practical significance and far-reaching historical significance. We celebrate 70 anniversary of the publication of the Cairo Declaration, adopted is to relive history, justice, looking at the current and look to the future, and better safeguard the Asia-Pacific region and the hard won peace and stable development of the world situation.

Hong Lei, said, it is to be noted that, the Cairo Declaration to China after World War II to regain Japan militarists looting and stealing of territories provided an important basis in international law. Japan domestic successive negative trends on the history issue, some openly questioned the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation by the force of law. 　　中新社北京12月2日电 中国外交部发言人洪磊2日在北京就《开罗宣言》发表70周年答记者问时表示，中方再次敦促日方正视和深刻反省侵略历史，信守承诺，认真履行自己应尽的国际义务，以实际行动取信于亚洲邻国和国际社会。

　　有记者问：12月1日是《开罗宣言》发表70周年。中方对此有何评论？

　　洪磊表示，《开罗宣言》是举世公认的重要国际法律文件，是世界反法西斯战争的重大成果，为国际社会确立战后国际秩序奠定了重要基础，具有深远历史意义和重要现实意义。我们纪念《开罗宣言》发表70周年，就是要通过重温历史，维护正义，审视当前，展望未来，更好地维护亚太地区和世界来之不易的和平稳定发展局面。

　　洪磊表示，需要指出的是，《开罗宣言》为二战后中国收复被日本军国主义掠夺和窃取的领土提供了重要的国际法依据。近来日本国内在历史问题上接连出现消极动向，一些人公开质疑《开罗宣言》和《波茨坦公告》的法律效力。其实质是企图为侵略历史翻案，否定世界反法西斯战争的胜利成果，挑战战后国际秩序，这不能不引起亚洲受害国和国际社会对日本发展走向的严重担忧和警惕。

　　洪磊表示，只有切实以史为鉴，才能开辟未来。我们再次敦促日方正视和深刻反省侵略历史，信守承诺，认真履行自己应尽的国际义务，以实际行动取信于亚洲邻国和国际社会。(完)
