United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron will pay an official visit to China on December 2, and Chinese leaders held a new round of annual meetings of the Sino-British Prime Minister. 多领域合作加速
中英经贸合作一直在创造新纪录。过去6年，中英贸易额增长了一倍；过去4年，英国对华出口额增长一倍；过去18个月，中国对英投资额超过此前30年总和；截至目前，伦敦人民币离岸业务在海外人民币交易中占比超过六成。
曾长期在英国工作的前驻欧盟大使宋明江表示，英国是创意、研发大国和世界金融中心之一；中国是制造、市场大国和成长中的对外投资大国。高科技研发与制造、大型基础设施建设及金融等领域合作有望成为两国关系发展的“新引擎”。
专家表示，中国与法国企业正商讨共同在英国兴建核电站，如果项目成功，英国“很可能成为中国核电走向发达国家市场的突破口”。英国正规划建设连接伦敦与伯明翰等城市的高速铁路，预计耗资超过300亿英镑，也有望为中英合作带来新机遇。
另一方面，随着中国创新驱动的经济转型以及居民消费水平提高，将为英国的环保、科技、创意、高品质商品和现代服务业带来更大机遇。宋明江说，已有多家中国企业在英国设立研发中心，利用英国技术、人才和创新能力，开辟中国甚至国际市场。
为加强中英两国经贸关系，英国财政大臣奥斯本10月和伦敦市长鲍里斯·约翰逊一起访问中国。奥斯本称将放宽中资银行在伦敦开展业务的限制，从而使伦敦成为人民币离岸交易的中心。奥斯本还为中国投资者投资英国核电厂项目打开了大门。
希望更广范围内引进中国投资
《金融时报》报道称，卡梅伦一直强调中英经贸关系的重要性，并承诺将努力在2015年前将对华贸易额增长至620亿英镑。但根据英国外交部今年1月份所做的一项调查，英国在中国市场所占的份额在过去10年下降到了仅占1%。卡梅伦正努力加强两国经贸关系。
