此外还有一种社区入托养老。老人们本来就是街坊邻居，社区又有街道办事处这样的运营机制，可以给予一定配套措施之后，这些老人可以像孩子一样入托。配上一定财政引导和政策支持，社区入托养老是有望在通盘养老形式里占有重要一席之地的。
贾康认为，还可以探索更复杂点的养老形态，比如老年大学式的养老，集园区、机构、居家融合在一体，一些学校硬件空闲下来可转为老年大学。老年大学可联合政府、企业、中介组织、志愿者组织、民办教育机构，各取所需，寻求共赢。
