口碑公司公关部所有员工日常工作只有两项：一是为客户在网上发文，二是为客户在网上删文。公司给每个人一个QQ账号，内有各类网站资源的联络表，这个账号即成为每位员工每天工作离不开的“拐棍”。原先的删帖流程是，根据联系方式找到负面信息网站编辑等人的QQ号，与其商谈删帖费用，一般是500元左右删除一个帖子，这要比发一个帖子贵得多。双方谈好价格后，网站有关人员就会进行删除操作，同时会提供一个银行卡号或是淘宝账号，删帖确认后公司的财务部将钱打给对方。遇到不认识的网站或者找不到编辑等人时，他们就会在公关群里“喊一声”，自然就会有中介冒出来接这个活儿。据交代，“目前公司有指令，删帖都要通过中介来完成。一般的帖子费用300、500元，自己可以解决，有的要价高，1000、2000元的我们做不了主，要上报总监，如果数额再大还要上报总裁，由他们签字后再进行删除”。某知名房产公司与口碑公司有合作协议，每个月有20条的负面信息删帖量，今年8月份，该公司房产项目在网上有负面信息，公关部先后找了十多家网站帮助删帖，花了12000多元，其中通过一个网名“米勒”的中介找到东方网，花了2000元删了三条。
犯罪嫌疑人郅某(QQ号“米勒”，因涉嫌向非国家工作人员行贿罪被逮捕)就是口碑公司固定联系的诸多中介之一。据郅交代，他每天生活在QQ群里，用网名接活干活，帮助联系发帖和删帖并从中获利，仅去年底与口碑公司合作以来，每月帮助其联系删帖业务数十次，每次200至1000元不等。他的第一笔生意是一个在网上认识的人让他帮忙删除一家网站转载的新闻，因为他原先做网上推广时认识该网站编辑，帮忙删了这条新闻，对方没有收费，事后有人给他的支付宝里打了300元，这让他觉得找到了一条发财之路，他认为一个中介的价值，体现在手里掌握的网站资源，说白了就是认识多少网站编辑人员。8月底，一个昵称“苹果”的客户找他删除某网站一则关于酒类企业的负面新闻，他通过昵称“老大”的人删了，后来“苹果”付了1200元，“老大”得了1000元，他得了200元。“如果没有口碑这样的网络公关公司，没有网站的那些人，我们中介也挣不到这份钱，也不会轻松地在中间获利。”郅某说，“如果‘两高’司法解释早出台，对自己也是个警醒，那就早收手不再干了。”
警方查明，在口碑公司等公关公司利用互联网非法经营的犯罪网络中，有许多拥有删帖能力的网站工作人员，涉及数十家网站(包括一些主流网站)。赵某(QQ号“夜鹰”，东方网网络工程师，因涉嫌非国家工作人员受贿罪被逮捕)是此次抓获的20余名网站工作人员中的一名，他们是网络非法删帖利益链条的关键环节。据赵某交代，他负责东方网业务应用支撑，删帖对他来说并不存在任何技术上的问题，甚至是他日常工作的一部分，只不过那是按照规定进行的正常工作。他有固定的工作和收入，而为朋友删帖，想顺手挣点“零花钱”。他的第一笔删帖交易是跟“米勒”做的，他与“米勒”单线联系，每条价格200元，仅这条线2年多时间获利3万多元。在被公安机关抓获的前一天，他还为“米勒”删了5条信息。“内容火的不删，点击量大的不删，出现在网页重要位置的也不敢删，否则很容易被发现，会担很大风险。”赵某交代，“每天有很多人找上门来求帮忙删帖，不断的诱惑最终打破了底线，最终害人害已。其实删帖也有正常途径，各个网站都会有客服人员专门负责受理投诉，如果认为某个帖子侵害了合法利益，可以与客服联系，并提供相关证据。一些人之所以花钱找人，可能还是渠道不通，想尽快删掉了事。”
