  新华网西宁12月28日电(记者任晓刚 骆晓飞) 中国科学院遥感与数字地球研究所日前利用卫星遥感技术确定了长江水量最大的一级支流——岷江的源头和长度。


  岷江是长江水量最大的一级支流,现有的大部分文献资料中认为:岷江发源于岷山南麓,全长为1062千米。


  中国科学院遥感与数字地球研究所刘少创介绍,依据国内外地理学界普遍采用的“河源唯远”的原则,通过卫星遥感影像分析及源头地区的实地考察验证,中国科学院遥感与数字地球研究所确定大渡河是岷江正源,其最上源流名为玛尔曲,源头位于青海省果洛藏族自治州达日县满掌乡境内的莫坝东山西麓,源头坐标为东经100度17分32秒,北纬33度23分16秒,源头海拔高程4579米。


  “以新发现的源头为起点,对岷江的长度进行测量,得到的结论是:岷江的长度为1279千米。”刘少创说。


  大河源头的确定及长度测量是地理学的经典问题之一,上个世纪90年代,中国科学院遥感与数字地球研究所开始通过卫星遥感影像分析与源头地区的实地考察相结合,确定大河源头和长度。


  截至目前,该研究所刘少创课题组已经完成了对全球20条大河源头的确定和长度量测,其中包括长江及其四条重要支流。
