本次调查所选取的7个城市分别是北京、上海、广州、成都、西安、长沙、沈阳。调查时间为27日14时至17时，共回收有效问卷1077份。本次调查采用在线会员库随机抽样的调查方式进行数据收集，所有样本均通过在线调查会员库随机抽取，受访者自愿填答问卷。所有受访对象为18岁以上普通民众。本次调查为简单随机抽样，在95%的置信度下，样本的允许抽样误差为3.0%。

对于中日关系未来走向，国内受访者态度不乐观。65.2%的受访者认为中日关系在5年之内难以缓和，17.8%认为10年之内难以缓和。对此，冯昭奎表示中国民众目前对中日关系比较悲观，这并不奇怪。安倍任期时间还有3年，目前民主党很弱，即便安倍下台，很可能还是自民党执政。现阶段安倍的执政理念是追求“日本梦”，换言之是“正常国家梦”，即摆脱战后体制，摘掉战败国帽子，拥有军队和发动战争的权利，某种意义上带有军国主义复兴的色彩。这一追求得到日本部分民众的支持，刺激国内民族主义情绪高涨。日本梦与我们的和平发展的“中国梦”在某种意义上是相克的，相互制约的。中日双方都不支持对方的梦想。这就预示着中日之间的关系不会轻易好转。不过，中国倒不是一定要压制日本，但在日本未对历史作出正确认识之前，我们依旧担心一个军事强大的日本对地区安全是威胁。
