2012年6月花都区城管执法分局予以立案查处，经执法部门和属地街道办反复制止，当事人仍一意孤行，最终抢建至地下1层、地上18层，外墙装修完毕，性质非常恶劣，情节十分严重。为震摄违法行为，经多方论证和区委区政府研究，决定采取爆破方式予以强制拆除。
据介绍，花都区成立了清拆办公室，对拆除该违法建设进行了筹备，确定具有国家一级爆破资质的中人集团建设有限公司为爆破施工企业，具有国家一级资质的汉通控股集团有限公司和广东爆破工程有限公司分别为安全评估企业和监理企业，并组织了两次专家论证会，对施工方案进行了评审，确认施工方案符合安全施工要求。
在对居民疏散、房屋安全鉴定、油站防护、交通疏导等各项工作充分准备的基础上，根据《民用爆炸物品安全管理条例》的相关规定，经报请广州市公安局批准，于12月28日对该违法建设实施爆破拆除，拆除面积22917平方米。
同时，爆破行动结束后，花都区还在现场召开了全区查违控违现场会。花都区官方表示，下一步，将切实贯彻广州市“控新建、拆在建、减存量”的工作思路，加大力度，毫不动摇推进拆除工作，毫不手软地控新建，毫不含糊地从严执纪，并建立长效工作机制。(完)
