一名教师介绍，自己2009年参加工作，每月工资加绩效1700多元，在罗田当地收入不高。日前有教师称，自2010年起，罗田县事业编在岗职工人均每人每月有500元的补贴，医院等事业单位均已补发，但教师的补贴被挪用。教师有近两万元被剥夺，“这就是罢课的原因”。
前晚，罗田县政府在其门户网站就此事发布情况说明称，当天上午事发后，县委县政府安排相关领导到现场做工作。当天下午4点30分，所有聚集教师全部返校，所有学校秩序正常。县委县政府召开专题会议，决定尽快落实相关政策，解决好教师待遇。
昨天下午，罗田县教育局办公室的一名工作人员表示，教师聚集是因为工资待遇与其他行业相比偏低。罗田县教师的工资均已按标准兑现，“每月500元补贴”说法，“应该不属实”。其表示，县委县政府和教育局已和教师代表谈过，“教师的待遇应该会提高，但具体提高的幅度和执行的时间，还没有确定”。
据参与罢课的罗田县教师介绍，教师代表透露，待遇会提高。另一名教师透露，很多教师虽然已返校，但并没开始上课，学生自己自习。
