事故发生后，当地消防、医疗、公安、安监等部门赶赴现场实施救援，凌晨时分，自贡、宜宾、内江等地消防支队200余名官兵、20余辆消防车到达现场。
进展 11时还有明火没扑灭
今天上午，在现场采访的同行告诉《法制晚报》记者，截止到上午11点，商场的负二楼还有明火没有扑灭，因为里面温度较高，消防人员也无法进入，消防人员试图用泡沫从高处向下喷洒来灭火，此外消防人员仍在用高压水枪不断地往大楼里喷水，目的为了降温和降低天然气浓度。
今日早晨，四川省消防总队再次派出成都和资阳的消防官兵前去增援。目前，内江和自贡的消防支队也赶到了现场。
伤者 目前已知8人伤情严重
截至今日零点30分左右，泸州医学院附属中医医院住院部接收伤者20人左右。伤者中摩尔玛商场保安陈新德(音)受伤较重，其头部、手臂等受伤，在医院经包扎后，转到脑外科。该医院医生吴佳奇介绍，伤者大多为骨折、软骨头损伤等，情况都比较稳定。
泸医附院截至今日凌晨2点07分接收到伤员12人，目前有4人经过简单的包扎之后已经出院，另有8人情况相对比较严重，目前正在医院接受治疗。其中，一人脑部损伤，一人肋骨骨折，情况较为严重，或需要进行手术，其他伤员情况稳定。
急诊科的医护人员介绍，为了抢救伤员，不少正在休息的护士立即出动抢救伤员，“有的从床上爬起来穿着拖鞋就出发了”。
现场 整栋楼都在剧烈摇晃
“当时很恐怖，感觉跟看美国大片一样！”在泸州人民医院接受治疗的黄女士接受《法制晚报》记者采访时说，她是摩尔玛超市的供货商，10点多的时候帮助超市调整货物，没过一会，就听见有人喊，煤气泄漏，大家快跑。我们跑出来后，看到了燃气管道维修工也来了，我们以为没事了，结果没过10分钟，就听见砰的一声，声音特别大，“我在40多米外，我的头都被震爆的玻璃划伤了，我的羽绒服上好多小口子，都是玻璃划的”。

昨日23时许，事故发生后，整个摩尔玛商场外一片狼藉。商场平台上紫色浓烟弥漫，满街散落着碎玻璃碴。街道中间的栏杆与过街天桥都有不同程度毁坏，现场一片混乱。随后警方隔离现场，避免发生二次爆炸伤及更多路人。
“砰砰砰砰几声巨响，整栋楼都在剧烈摇晃，随后便组织观众疏散。”摩尔玛电影院的工作人员告诉记者，“楼下摩尔美食美客晚上在做天然气相关工程，可能是这个原因。”
原因可能是天然气管道泄漏
“今晚才通气半个小时，就爆炸了。”胡女士的家就在摩尔玛商场背后的一个小区。胡女士说，两天前，接到了天然气公司停气的通知。由于停气不便，自己随时都在试是否通气，没想到才来气半个小时就发生了爆炸。
凌朝芳是摩尔玛商场的一名员工。她介绍，事发当晚商场负一楼调换卖场，近200名员工在商场加班。晚上10点左右，商场突然冒出天然气异味，商场管理部门通知全体工作人员分散到商场外等待通知并打开商场大门排出异味。没想到半个小时左右“嘭”的一声巨响，商场就突然发生了爆炸。
泸州华润兴泸燃气有限公司相关负责人介绍，经现场初步调查，起火原因可能是天然气管道泄漏所致。
事故发生时，摩尔玛电影院的一名工作人员听到了爆炸声，据他称：“楼下摩尔美食美客，晚上在维修天然气管道，有可能因此引发意外。”该工作人员的说法，得到了另一位亲历者的印证。
现场救援的消防官兵称，经初步调查，爆燃事故可能为天然气管道泄漏引发。
关切
一对情侣下落不明
《天府早报》上午发布微博，寻找摩尔玛商城爆炸失踪者。微博称，陈博(音)宇，女，27岁，昨晚和男朋友一起到摩尔玛电影院看电影，事故发生后，家人试图与二人联系，截至今日上午9时30分，仍然联系不到。陈博宇的家人分多路到各家医院打听伤者情况，亦没音讯。
