伤者第一反应是发生地震了
事故发生后，当地公安、卫生等多个部门启动紧急预案，包括泸州医学院附属中医医院在内的四家医院负责收治40名伤者。经过诊断，此次事故伤者主要是爆燃产生的气浪冲击致摔伤和外物砸伤，未发现烧伤。
在泸医中医院，记者见到了49岁的刘坤富，事故发生时，他正和爱人正带着4岁的外孙女在商场外，万幸的是，三人中只有刘坤富一人腿部受了轻伤。
“突然听到咣的一声，吓了我一大跳。”刘坤富说，事故发生得相当突然，看到玻璃从楼上掉下来，下意识地将外孙女搂到胸前，用身体挡住了倒下的广告牌。“我第一反应是发生地震了，垮下来的广告牌一下就压住右腿，身体完全不能动。”
刘坤富告诉记者，当时孩子被他护住，但也不能动弹，爱人大声呼救，赶来的消防队员搬开广告牌才将他救了出来。
泸州医学院附属中医医院医务部部长刘鹏介绍说，该院接治伤员24名，一名已经出院，接治伤员基本为皮外伤、骨折及受爆炸冲击波撞击的头胸腹部疼痛。仍留院伤员中有3名伤势较重，虽无生命危险，但出现了头痛持续、神智不清等情况，需要密切关注。
目前，此次爆燃事故中的4名死者身份已经确认，40名伤者已有5人出院，其余35人仍在医院接受救治。
事故原因正在调查 安全生产亟需重视
记者在摩尔玛商场外看到，一辆印有“华润兴泸燃气有限公司”的黄色工程车就停放在路边，车窗玻璃已被剧烈的冲击波震碎，后车厢还堆放着更换下来的几根废旧管道。
现场一位华润兴泸燃气公司负责人告诉记者：“23日，有用户反映摩尔玛商场天然气管道有漏气现象，公司当天就关闭了这个区域的天然气供应。考虑到24日夜间人员较多，只进行了检查。25日挖沟，26日下午开始更换新管道。”
这位负责人说：“26日晚22点更换结束后开始供气，但仍然发现负一楼的厨房在漏气，工作人员随即通知商场工程部进行检修，之后就有商场工作人员跑了出来。施工人员准备去关闭阀门，但发现阀门不能完全关闭，通过调压箱也无法解决，等到想再去关支线的时候，发生了爆燃。”
