在发布会现场，工作人员使用4G手机实测上网速度，本地4G网络最高下载速度超过100Mbps，试用4G手机登录移动应用商场客户端下载一款20M的应用，不到3秒；下载一部高清大片，也只需要几分钟。
据了解，目前深圳主城区已基本实现4G网络的覆盖，面积已达到1300平方公里，覆盖密度位居全国前列。深圳4G网络目前已可支撑涵盖市政管理、商务办公、居民休闲、公共交通、工业区、文教区等各类区域的业务应用。
中国移动广东公司深圳分公司此前推出全国首个4G即摄即传日常新闻直播行业应用。在深圳机场新航站楼启用前后，深圳卫视等多个电视频道利用4G即摄即传应用进行十多次无线高清直播，清晰流畅的画面与现场的延迟不超过1秒。记者无需借助身形庞大的电视转播车，只要在肩扛摄像机的传输模块上插入4G上网卡，连接中国移动4G网络，就能在拍摄的同时把高清影像传回后方。
高清电子警察、高清实时视频监控、公交车4G WiFi服务等行业应用已在深圳快速普及，4G的正式商用，行业应用将焕发出新的光彩。
随着4G的到来，市民对4G手机的关注也在增加。在发布会上，中国移动广东公司深圳分公司展出了10个品牌的近20款手机，涵盖三星、HTC、华为等10个国内外品牌，据悉，2014年上半年，中国移动将推动4G手机种类超过50款，包括千元4G手机和自主品牌4G手机，预计将进一步推动4G用户快速增长。据透露，苹果iPhone5S、三星NOTE3(4G版)两种机型也即将在深圳面市。
