同一天，联合国秘书长潘基文也发表声明称，对安倍参拜靖国神社表示关注。潘基文强调，日本应对二战受害者的感情表现出应有的尊重。

杨洁篪指出，靖国神社问题的实质是日本政府能否正确认识和深刻反省日本军国主义对外侵略和殖民统治历史。安倍身为日本首相参拜靖国神社，这绝不是日本的内政，更不是什么个人问题，而是关乎侵略与反侵略、正义与邪恶、光明与黑暗的大是大非问题，是关乎日本领导人是否遵守联合国宪章宗旨和原则、走和平发展道路的根本方向问题，是关乎日本同亚洲邻国和国际社会关系政治基础的重大原则问题。安倍的所作所为正在将日本推向一条损害各国人民和日本人民根本利益的危险道路，已经引起国际社会和日本各界有识之士的高度警惕。
