李崇禧成为继李春城、郭永祥之后，四川省被中央纪委立案调查的第三位官员。
李崇禧的最后一次公开露面是在12月27日，四川省政协召开十一届第14次主席会议。省政协主席李崇禧主持会议并讲话。
李崇禧在会议上指出，要深入贯彻落实党的十八届三中全精神和省委经济工作暨城镇化会议作出的决策部署。同时表示要认真谋划好、开展好省政协明年工作，努力提升政协服务科学发展、加快发展的水平。
据四川省一退休厅级官员称，四川官场内早已流传李崇禧被调查的消息。早在之前，就曾听说李崇禧被限制出境。尽管如此，李崇禧在近段时间内频繁在媒体露面。
据一名知情人士透露，李崇禧这次落马，很有可能是经济问题。
公开履历显示，李崇禧从1972年开始曾在四川省制药厂当过5年的工人。1978年进入四川财经学院(现西南财经大学)财政系财政专业学习。
据该退休厅级官员称，1982年8月，李崇禧作为第一批具有经济专业背景的身份进入四川省纪委工作，并成为办案人员。
从1982年到1995年的十多年前，李崇禧的工作范围主要集中在纪委系统，他从办案人员后变成办案处室的负责人，而后又成为四川省纪委常委。
上述退休厅级官员介绍，李崇禧在四川纪委工作期间，工作能力极其突出，深受领导赏识。
其公开履历显示，从1995年3月开始，李崇禧作为党内干部培养对象，下到四川省下面的甘孜州锻炼。一年后，他成为阿坝州州委书记，并在那任职了4年半。2000年8月，他成为四川省委秘书长、办公厅主任。2000年12月，他同时成为四川省委常委。
值得一提的是，今年6月23日落马的郭永祥与其有交集曾是其“下属”。
郭永祥在2001年1月到2002年5月期间担任四川省委副秘书长。当时李崇禧担任省委秘书长一职。2002年5月，郭永祥接任李崇禧的省委秘书长和办公厅主任的职务。
2002年5月，他又回到四川省纪委，四川省委副书记兼任四川省纪委书记。2007年，他卸职四川省纪委书记。
2011年1月，他作为四川省委副书记，同时还担任省人大副主任、党组书记。8个月后，他卸任四川省委副书记，继续担任省人大副主席、党组书记一职。
2013年1月开始，李崇禧担任四川省十一届政协主席、党组书记，四川省人大常委会副主任、党组书记。
从2000年至2011年，李崇禧在四川省委常委会任职超过10年。
