年仅32岁官至副厅级
新疆是杨刚从政的主舞台。1969年，年仅16岁的杨刚即在新疆生产建设兵团农八师150团当农工，大约6年后，转入新疆铁工局工作近四年。1978年他脱产进入新疆大学政治系政治理论专业学习4年，其间入党，毕业后重回新疆生产建设兵团。
据媒体报道，1985年年仅32岁的杨刚担任了新疆生产建设兵团团委副书记，成为新疆当时最年轻的厅级干部，并作为兵团的代表担任共青团中央第十一、十二届中央委员。
1993年起，杨刚任吐鲁番地委副书记，升正厅级。1999年，出任乌鲁木齐市委书记，之后成为新疆维吾尔自治区党委常委，2006年，转任自治区党委副书记，第二年出任自治区常务副主席，直至2010年。
2010年12月，杨刚离开新疆，赴北京出任国家质量监督检验检疫总局副局长、党组副书记。
今年3月开始，杨刚兼任全国政协经济委员会副主任，7月开始专职。全国政协经济委员会是全国政协设置的九个专门委员会之一，负责就国家大政方针及经济社会发展中的重要问题，向中共中央、国务院提出意见建议。

本报讯(记者 邹春霞)昨天发布的《反腐倡廉蓝皮书》称，网络举报成为实名率最高的新兴举报方式。网络举报线索主要涉及生活作风、奢靡消费、弄虚作假等方面，因艳照曝光、情妇举报等问题导致官员落马的比例高达48.7%。
今年是中国社科院第三年发布《反腐倡廉蓝皮书》。据统计，2009年6月至2012年6月，最高人民检察院举报网站所获署名举报占比接近85%。
