7月20日，小黄随机地向个人电脑发送了病毒软件，成功盗取了一名用户的账号和密码。
从用户信息上，小黄发现对方是位在美国留学的中国学生，老家在浙江余姚。他觉得留学生和国内联系不畅，而且家里有钱，随便找个理由，家人汇款的可能性较大。于是，小黄的骗局开始了。
他从这个QQ号的好友栏中找到一名好友，谎称自己手机掉了，希望朋友能帮忙联系到母亲，让她网上聊天，有急事。一会儿工夫，“妈妈”头像动了起来。小黄告诉“妈妈”，自己要学小语种，得马上报名，而一次课程费用大概是5万元人民币。
听到儿子的要求，妈妈二话没说，就给“儿子”提供的银行账户打了学费。
如此轻松就得手，小黄胆子更大了。他继续向“妈妈”说，学校规定得同时报两门课程，所以还需要报名费5万元。
“儿子”开口闭口谈钱，妈妈心中起了疑心，拨通了远洋电话。电话那头，儿子说自己没让汇钱，QQ被盗了。知道上当受骗的妈妈，立马向公安局报了警。
今年8月，小黄被北京警方抓获，9月移送至余姚市公安局。
办案检察官认为，小黄以非法占有为目的，采用虚构事实、隐瞒真相的方法，骗取公民钱财，数额较大，行为已触犯法律，所以向法院提起公诉。
记者了解到，诈骗公私财物，数额较大(6000元以上不满10万元)的，处三年以下有期徒刑、拘役或者管制。
