Google intern at US $ 5,678 and not surprisingly,

US $ 5,678 no surprise-Google Google intern, Google-IT information Google intern at US $ 5,678 no surprise

Recently, on the Internet there was a thread a little fire, said one was " Silicon Valley companies intern salary ", sparking envy envy hate, like: Apple intern $ 4,914 a month, full-time starting salary $ 106,913; Google intern salary of $ 5,678, full-time positions, earning starting salaries of $ 113,100; Yahoo's monthly salary of $ 5,191 ... ... ; Another says "Silicon Valley is not paradise", overtime is so serious and so, like a lot of companies would work overtime every day, and also 9-10 and tonight is normal.

Daffy is in fact about Silicon Valley? Whole IT industry is relying on developing speed, relying on technical patricide, relying on self squeeze and rising industries. We also wish to make a few small inventory, look at IT people's ecology.

4 million people dominated leading industry!

United States is undoubtedly the leader in the global IT industry, if you don't count the Internet industry, and 8 in the top ten IT companies are United States companies in the Internet industry, in addition to the BAT, United States global IT enterprise also occupy the other seven--United States, literally, is a United States creation, United States lead and the United States monopoly areas.

However, if you, asking you, United States IT how many people? Many people may not be so. In accordance with United States labour offices and third parties with statistics, this figure is approximately 4 million people. That's right, only 4 million and 4 million, contains about 1 million of the traditional telecommunications operators, Enterprise IT managers ... ... United States real programmers less than 1 million people, architecture design, product design, top talent is definitely less.

However, precisely this 4 million people, decided the United States trillions of dollars on "information industry GDP" (around 3 trillion dollars), and contains the Google, Apple, Microsoft, Cisco, Intel, Qualcomm, IBM's top companies and a large number of start-ups.

These companies is very alarming and the value of per capita. For example, Google's annual revenue of about $ 60 billion, but only 70,000 employees, creating millions of dollars worth of per capita; Microsoft has about 100,000 employees, revenues of more than $ 70 billion, created more than 600,000 dollars worth of per capita – and these companies ' costs mainly on labor costs, industrial added value is very high. Even though per capita annual salary of $ 150,000, creating value for shareholders is extremely alarming. Such a group of people, such a creating high added value and profits of the industry, their income levels are higher, their employees revenue well above the United States per capita salary of 30,000-40,000 dollars is not surprising.

Entry pay relatively high background, is fierce sexual competition. United States graduates of the best universities, the most creative people crowded to opportunities of the IT industry, which is very competitive; especially after the financial crisis of 2008, and its intensity exceeds the financial sector. Even the interns, strike, recruitment rules of Google, Facebook and other companies will be able to see the horizon.

Coupled with rapid technology iteration IT industries, such fierce competition between companies, necessarily reflect the company, in this case, overtime; many Silicon Valley companies, it is no surprise. Also, for similar reasons, Chinese IT company competition is also fierce. Whether it's the low end of Foxconn, Huawei telecommunications field or BAT in the Internet industry, as well as more entrepreneurial companies, overtime is common, it is the IT industry's fate.

Changes in technological evolution

We get out of IT, you can see that many businesses have similar characteristics, and will find more interesting facts.

For example, in the United States 1% 's richest people, accounted for 40% of the wealth 25% income; 5% who controlled the cent of the wealth, 20% who controlled the cent of the wealth. How did these people composed of?

According to United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, in the first 1% among the families, 31% is the Enterprise Manager or private entrepreneur, 15.7% is a doctor, the Wall Street financial workers accounted for 13.9%, part of second-and third-rentier class, totals nearly 70%, other sectors are scattered in the fields of IT, lawyers.

If we look at IT, we see revenue 20% of people, roughly United States 20 million-25 million were employed consisting of what? Which, more than 4 million IT practitioners in the many are in this range within, because low-end industry most through outsourcing transfer to has China, and India such of country, is service outsourcing and hardware OEM; and financial practitioners in the of 4 million-5 million people many also in this group in the; in United States of 10 million about manufacturing industry workers, pharmaceutical, and car, and air space, and oil, also has half in this field in the; again plus United States near 20 million small enterprise main in the of part, Forms the majority of this group.

So, when you see IT when you work hard, work hard, and you look at the industry, most jobs are relatively heavy, and the competition is fierce. Even more moisture, a few years ago of Detroit's big three automakers less competitive, wage income and welfare declined significantly, also far ahead in competitive intensity for years.

This pyramid, situation occurs, IT is a good observation. For example, when cloud computing show, plenty of traditional storage services, server vendors, there is no necessary, behind that lead not merely to a lot of traditional IT jobs, more traditional industries IT maintenance personnel jobs. So, if we look at the United States the IT industry, the peak in 2001, nearly 4 million working population, employment in the last two years to tie a decade ago, however, it created the production value, added value has increased by 2-3.

This happens in the financial, military, automotive and other industries have also been seen, they are the broader notion of "technical" area, advances in technology, allowing fewer people to do more sophisticated work. The end result is that few capitalists, entrepreneurs, top workers standing on the height of 1%, 19% of skilled workers, small-business owners stood in the middle and high-end, crowding out many others "technical field", retail, logistics, nursing, and other low-end labor work, nature in the distribution of wealth would be difficult to get a lot.

So, in a sense, technical progress has led to tremendous changes in the employment structure, this change is irreversible. Former five people, in the former 1% who, apart from a few rentier, most brutal competition and a little luck, can be caused by combined effect, which is in the nature of capitalism, but also due to technological evolution, how can you not busy? Google intern at US $ 5,678 not surprised!
