Hong Kong people had earlier arrested for trespassing after the people's Liberation Army Headquarters in Hong Kong, for which, a former member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Secretary for security, Mrs Regina IP, said, the people's Liberation Army stationed in Hong Kong disciplined, dedicated to protect Hong Kong, should not be provoked.

有香港市民早前涉嫌擅闯驻港解放军总部后被捕，对此，曾经担任香港保安局局长的行政会议成员叶刘淑仪表示，驻港解放军严守纪律，全心全意保护香港，不应受到挑衅。
有香港市民早前擅自闯入解放军驻港部队军营抗议，之后被捕。对此，曾经担任香港保安局局长的行政会议成员叶刘淑仪形容，这几名香港市民的做法离谱。她说，军营附近是禁区，踏入禁区就触犯了法例。在外国如果有人擅闯或接近，一般会开枪，而香港的做法已经比较宽松。
叶刘淑仪说，驻港解放军严守纪律，从来没有出过军营闹事，全心全意保护香港，不应受到挑衅。她说，香港向来崇尚法治，年轻人要守法，不应该无端挑衅驻军。
叶刘淑仪认为，从中央的声明可以看出中央关注事件，她认为，事件无助加强中央及香港互信。呼吁香港警方应该提醒市民不要以身试法。
