据了解，野化培训的大熊猫“张想”在放归基地的适应圈后的一举一动都被全程“跟踪”。在这50多天时间里，工作人员利用GPS颈圈、红外自动触发相机和摄像机、大熊猫粪便激素测定等方法，对圈养大熊猫“张想”放归后的适应状况进行了全程监测。监测数据显示：“张想”日均活动距离和激素水平逐渐平稳，食物已从前期的丰实箭竹转换为目前的石棉玉山竹，且采食量逐渐增加，与大熊猫“淘淘”放归自然后同期情况基本一致。“张想”放归后活动范围、活动节律、采食情况等正常，具有对栖息环境较强的选择能力，视频和图像显示其毛色、体态和行为正常，可以到更广阔的大自然，逐渐融入本地大熊猫种群。
