此次通报的5起典型案例是：
1、安徽省萧县大量制售病死猪肉失职渎职案。该县不法商贩收购病死猪肉销往安徽、河南等地加工成熟食后，批发销售到安徽、江苏等地零售点和菜市场。至案发时共加工病死猪肉5万余斤，非法获利8万余元。萧县和青龙镇政府及农业、商务、工商、质监等部门存在监管不严、失职失察问题。安徽省监察厅责成萧县政府、青龙镇政府分别向宿州市政府、萧县政府作出深刻书面检查，萧县原副县长等17人受到党纪政纪处分。
2、山东省潍坊市峡山区生姜种植违规使用剧毒农药失职渎职案。峡山区管委会、王家庄街道和当地农业部门存在监管不力、检查不严问题。峡山区管委会副主任等9人受到党纪政纪处分。
3、山东省阳信县制售假羊肉失职渎职案。该县不法商贩利用羊尾油、鸭脯肉等，制成假羊肉销售。县政府和监管部门存在日常监管缺失、执法检查不到位问题。阳信县副县长等4人受到党纪政纪处分，3人被移送司法机关处理。
4、江苏省东海县康润食品配料有限公司非法制售“地沟油”失职渎职案。该公司从不法商人处大量收购火炼毛油(俗称“地沟油”)并制成食用油品种，销售至安徽等地上百家食用油、食品加工企业及个体粮油店，案值达6129万余元。东海县政府和工商、质监等部门存在监管不力、检查不严问题。东海县副县长等5人受到政纪处分，5人被移送司法机关处理。
5、山西省孝义市金晖小学学生集体腹泻事件失职渎职案。该学校食堂长期无证经营，且存在通风不畅、管理不严、卫生安全措施缺失等问题，致使发生46名学生集体腹泻事件。孝义市教育、食品药品监管部门和梧桐镇政府存在监督管理不严、督促整改不力问题。孝义市教育局局长、食品药品监管局局长等11人受到政纪处分。
通报要求，各级监察机关要督促地方政府和相关部门认真汲取教训，切实增强责任意识，把维护食品安全放在更加突出的位置、作为重要系统工程来抓。一是认真履行作为食品安全监管第一责任主体的职责；
二是切实加强日常监管，强化源头防控，严查风险隐患，加大整治力度，严惩重处食品安全犯罪和违法乱纪行为；
三是各级监察机关要强化执纪监督，建立更为严格的责任追究制度，加大对食品安全监管失职问题的查处力度，对责任人员实行最严格的责任追究。
通报强调，对履行食品安全监管领导、协调职责不得力，本行政区域出现重大食品安全问题的，要严肃追究地方政府有关人员的领导责任；对履行食品安全监管职责不严格、日常监督检查不到位的，要严肃追究有关职能部门和责任人员的监管责任；对滥用职权、徇私舞弊甚至搞权钱交易、充当不法企业“保护伞”等涉嫌犯罪的，要及时移送司法机关依法追究法律责任。
