东城区今年将加快推进王府井国际品牌中心、海港城等重点项目建设，结合地铁工程，统筹实施王府井地下空间开发。今后王府井步行街将建立连接各个商场的地下通道，结束“各自为战”局面，遇到雨雪天气，游客可以借助地下通道完成各个商场的购物活动。

相关部门规划，如果能够建立一条连接步行街南北的地下“王府井步行街”，不仅能够缓解核心商圈普遍存在的交通问题，而且地下通道将成为商场间“沟通”的桥梁。如果商圈内的商业设施通过地下通道连通后，彼此之间将不再“各自为战”。商场间利用整合营销的模式可以在彼此间实现“借力”。
据了解，早在2002年，王府井商业区地下空间开发利用规划方案曾向海内外征集，2004年以后数年间，方案几次被提上议程。

医护人员首驻养老机构服务
东城区汤钦飞副区长介绍，该区现有老年人口22.9万人，占全区总人数的23.8％，高于全市21%水平。他表示，养老问题是今年东城区政府工作的重点内容之一，东城将以居家养老模式为主，探索医养结合和公建民营的养老新模式。
东城区民政局副局长王桁表示，为整合区级医疗、养老资源，今年东城区将首次试点“医养融合”，即北京市隆福医院进驻区级养老机构东城区汇晨老年公寓，开设门诊为老年人提供专业老年康复和护理的医疗服务，作为全市首创，目前该医疗服务点已经进入市级卫生部门层面审批阶段，预计今年上半年该医疗点将正式“开业”。
汇晨老年公寓设床位200张，自去年初正式运行以来已经入住87位老人。
公办养老院先满足困难老人
为满足辖区内老年人就近养老需求，王桁介绍，下一步，东城区推进养老机构“公建民营”改革，引导辖区内医疗机构同养老机构多方式合作，通过规范现有养老机构与邻近医疗机构、社区卫生服务站协作方式，将养老机构的护理优势与医疗机构的医疗优势相结合。
王桁介绍，目前，东城区共有养老机构11家，床位数为1375张。经过调研，虽然纯市场化的养老院可以节约政府投入，但由于定位过高，有的公办养老院需要排队很多年才能入住进去的情况并不鲜见，今后公办养老院将首先保障困难家庭老人入住，起到“兜底”作用。

时间博物馆今年对外开放
东城区政府工作报告中明确，2014年，东城区将完成钟鼓楼广场恢复整治，实现时间博物馆对社会开放，包括时间科普展览、计时工具发展等主题。
据了解，钟鼓楼已有700多年历史，“晨钟暮鼓”是老北京独特的记忆。目前，钟鼓楼周边空间被严重侵占，辐射面积由1.4万余平方米减至目前的不足4000平方米，周边环境及历史风貌遭到较大破坏。
昨天下午，鼓楼东大街和地安门外大街交会处的东南角处，透过围挡可隐约看到一片灰色砖顶的院落，这便是北京时间博物馆。走进去可以发现，时间博物馆是围合式传统风格建筑。目前仅主体结构完工，还未进行装修和装饰。
左安门角楼复建今年完成
政府工作报告明确指出，今年将完成北京外城东南角角楼历史文化景观标志性建筑恢复工程，也就是说备受关注的左安门角楼复建今年有望实现，它将与明城墙角楼、前门箭楼、永定门城楼共同环绕天坛，重现“一坛居中、四楼环绕”。
东城区文委表示，左安门角楼复建工程被列入“十项名城保护项目”，目前已完成防洪评价报告审批和勘测钉桩工作，调整后的方案已报送市规划委审批，目前正在积极推进中。东城区明确表示，今年将攻坚克难，完成该建筑的恢复工程。
左安门角楼的全称是“北京外城东南角楼”，位于南二环左安门桥东滨河路东南转角处。上世纪30年代和50年代，其箭楼、瓮城、城楼相继被拆。
