据湖北省纪委监察厅官网公布，2013年，全省各级纪检监察机关受理信访举报70515件(次)，初核9026件，立案6307件，结案6130件，处分6185人(其中党纪处分5256人，政纪处分1701人，党纪政纪双重处分772人)，移送司法机关473人。通过查办案件，为国家挽回经济损失约9.69亿元。
其中，湖北省纪委、省监察厅直接查办违纪违法案件36件，分别为市厅级干部案件27件，县处级干部案件9件，有10件案件移送司法机关处理。
此次通报的4起案件分别是：
原中共武汉市新洲区委书记、新洲区人大常委会主任王世益案。经查：王世益利用职务上的便利，在工程建设、房地产开发、干部人事等方面为他人谋取利益，非法收受他人财物；滥用职权，给国家造成重大经济损失；违反社会主义道德，长期与他人通奸。鉴于王世益已涉嫌受贿犯罪，决定将其移送司法机关依法处理。
原湖北省财政厅党组副书记、副厅长周顺明案。经查：周顺明利用职务上的便利，为他人谋取利益，非法收受他人财物；违反领导干部廉洁自律规定，接受礼金。经湖北省纪委审议并报省委批准，决定给予周顺明开除党籍、开除公职处分并移送司法机关依法处理。
原湖北美术学院党委书记刘刚案。经查：刘刚利用职务上的便利，在招生、基建、干部人事等方面为他人谋取利益，非法收受他人财物。经湖北省纪委审议并报省委批准，决定给予刘刚开除党籍、开除公职处分并移送司法机关依法处理。
原湖北省交通厅高速公路管理局副巡视员、省宜昌至巴东高速公路建设指挥部指挥长宋继宏案。经查：宋继宏利用职务上的便利，在工程建设方面为他人谋取利益，非法收受他人财物；违反社会主义道德，长期与他人通奸。经湖北省纪委审议并报省委批准，决定给予宋继宏开除党籍、开除公职处分并移送司法机关依法处理。(完)
